Client Case Study: Nuclear Services Technology Provider

Client Challenge

Our client, a government owned and operated nuclear services technology provider, they lacked the internal capability and skills to meet the demands of its Technology and Digital Change projects.

We were selected by the client due to our track record within the Secure Government, Defence and National Security sector and our ability to deliver a broad range of IT Consultancy Services at speed and scale.

Our Solution

As the service is designed to meet a broad array of client needs, with outcomes ranging from a few days to more than 12 months, we provide a dedicated Service Delivery Team, headed by an experienced Service Delivery Manager. The team work collaboratively with stakeholders with the client to evaluate their consultancy requirements and scale our service in line with demand, proposing options which offer value for money and deliver excellent outcomes.

Our consultants work in independent teams to deliver outcomes and as part of blended teams with staff from the client and other third-party suppliers. They collaborate with in-house teams, ensuring that we help to deliver services which meet user requirements and can be supported by the client in future, following an appropriate period of knowledge transfer and handover.

We have driven collaboration with the client to improve the quality of outcomes, by implementing joint team weekly update calls to foster collaboration and a “one-team” approach. We have also run joint planning sessions to flush out dependencies across the client’s full portfolio of projects.

The range of disciplines covered by our IT consultancy services includes:

  • Architecture – covering Data, Networks, Security, Solutions and Technical Architecture.
  • Business Analysis - including interacting with stakeholders and SMEs for requirements capture and solution design.
  • Business Change – Managing business and IT transformation.
  • Programme and Management, PMO and Project Management – full responsibility for planning, delivery and reporting.
  • Service Delivery Management – Operational Service Design, developing Service Levels and ensuring service availability.

Value Delivered

In the first 18 months of our contract we:

  • Provided stabilisation to the IT Leadership Team by delivering consultancy expertise, advice and guidance regarding the establishment of a service management function
  • Successfully delivered a cloud migration project, moving from an on-prem solution to an o- prem model (Azure), enabling them to avoid penalty clauses for late delivery.
  • Worked with the Security Department, providing CISO level direction to deliver a high performing Cyber Security Function.
