Client Challenge
Our client, a large NHS Trust, provides hospital services to over 900,000 people in the south of England. In addition to a full range of district general hospital services, the Trust delivers specialist acute consultant-led care.
To modernise its operations, the Trust launched an ambitious Digital Strategy comprising:
- Transformation of clinical applications, including a strategic Electronic Patient Record (EPR) deployment
- A highly available, capacity-managed infrastructure
- An enterprise application estate for back-office operations
Lacking the internal capacity to deliver these programmes, the Trust ran a further competition via a Crown Commercial Service Managed Framework to appoint a single delivery partner. Following a rigorous evaluation, LA International was selected based on our NHS experience and our ability to deliver both value for money and high-quality service.
Our Solution
We established a domain-specialist Account Management Team, led by a dedicated Service Delivery Manager. The team engaged deeply with stakeholders to understand the Trust’s:
- Strategic objectives
- Technical landscape
- Organisational culture
We conducted a detailed review of the programme pipeline and designed a Governance Framework to manage delivery speed and quality.
Given the urgency of the programme, we implemented a proactive resourcing strategy, including:
- Continuous horizon scanning to anticipate short-, medium-, and long-term needs
- Investment in capability-building ahead of demand at no cost or commitment to the client
This approach enabled us to deploy an average of over 100 resources per year, aligned to the Trust’s evolving needs.

- Fulfilled 100% of all requirements, often under tight deadlines or during high-volume ramps (e.g., new clinical system rollouts)
- Introduced new ways of working, including milestone-based delivery and supplier-led inductions
