Client Challenge
A national law enforcement agency, responsible for tackling serious organised crime, required a fully managed Security Operations Centre (SOC) following the departure of their incumbent supplier. This was to be a temporary measure, bridging the gap while the client worked to establish a permanent internal SOC team; a process expected to take considerable time due to the rigorous vetting and recruitment procedures involved.
The environment presented several critical challenges. The service had to be delivered within a high-security, on-site location, necessitating personnel with existing enhanced clearance. Moreover, the client required a rapid scale-up of 24/7 coverage to ensure uninterrupted security monitoring across their infrastructure. The initial contract was for 12 months with a further optional six-month extension, which has since been exercised.
Our Solution
LA International swiftly deployed a fully managed SOC team operating on a 24/7 basis. All consultants were pre-assessed by our internal Cyber Security Subject Matter Expert and held the relevant security clearances from the outset. Additional vetting was carried out in partnership with the client to meet their stringent standards.
We ensured a seamless transition from the outgoing supplier, completing a comprehensive handover with no disruption to operational monitoring. The team comprised Level 1 to Level 3 Analysts, with one member promoted to Team Lead in recognition of exceptional contribution. Their responsibilities spanned threat detection, SIEM management, incident response, and intelligence gathering, while maintaining an evolving knowledge base to support operational efficiency.
The team’s technical capabilities included strong proficiency across operating systems, networks, and a broad range of security tools. They worked in alignment with recognised frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and MITRE ATT&CK, while maintaining compliance with key regulations including GDPR and HIPAA. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) standards and Purple Teaming methodologies also informed their daily operations.
We maintain quarterly on-site visits on a quarterly basis and monthly commercial reviews, ensuring continuous alignment with service-level expectations and proactive mitigation of any emerging risks.

The mobilisation of LA International’s SOC enabled the client to transition smoothly from their previous supplier with zero service interruption. Our flexible operating model allowed the client to scale down incrementally as internal hires progressed through onboarding, providing operational continuity throughout.
With a stable and high-performing SOC in place, the client’s permanent SOC Manager was able to shift focus towards strategic transformation initiatives. The team introduced a more structured and resilient operational model, earning positive feedback and prompting consideration for permanent placement of LA International consultants at the conclusion of the engagement.
